Christmas Light Installation in Martin City
A small-town main street that happens to sit inside Kansas City, wrapped in older frame houses and newer builds. Martin City lights like a town, not a subdivision.
South of 135th
Still a village, technically a neighborhood.
Martin City sits at the far south end of Kansas City, Missouri, near 135th and Holmes and the 150 Highway corridor, and it has kept a genuinely separate identity.
The strip
Martin City is best known for its restaurants — a compact run of independent places with a barbecue reputation that pulls people down from the rest of the metro. Those buildings are low, wide and set back behind their own parking, which means a lit roofline reads from the road at speed. That is the whole design brief: bold, level, and visible at forty.
Older frame houses
The residential streets immediately around the strip are older and modest: single-story frame and brick homes on generous lots with mature trees. Short rooflines, easy ladder access and plenty of yard for a wrapped tree or a lit entry.
New builds on the edges
South and east of the old core, newer subdivisions bring two-story elevations, tall entries and multiple gables. That geometry suits crisp white C9 outlining — clean lines that hold their shape at scale.
Wind and open ground
This far south the ground opens up and the wind gets a run at you. We clip rather than tape, we secure ground stakes properly, and we come back through the season when a KC ice storm does what it does.
Included
Every Martin City install: commercial-grade C9 LEDs, design, installation, all-season maintenance, January takedown and storage.
